Tuesday was nothing short of a full day. In the midst of filming, we were tearing out the front steps of the home, as well as removing trees. Try talking into a camera while dodging falling branches – not the easiest thing to do!
Below is the photo of the home as is – a drab yellow featuring green shutters, with scarce landscaping and large trees in the front yard. The exterior is in dire need of a fresh look. Luckily, this house will be getting a complete makeover, including painting, landscaping, framing of the porch, and fencing. When all is said and done, this home is going to fit in nicely with its neighbors!

Before

Right now, Renewal is filming an episode for a brand new HGTV series called Curb Appeal: The Block. The episode, shot reality style, documents a two week renovation involving the exterior face lift of a Decatur home.
The designer and host on this project is HGTV’s own John Gidding of the hit show, Designed to Sell. The project manager on the job, and who will also be featured on the show, is Renewal’s own Lisa Manka. Side note: This process is old hat for Lisa. She also starred in an episode of Discovery’s Renovation Nation, a show that Renewal filmed last year. Look out, Hollywood!
**Throughout the filming process, we will be sharing our photos and writing down our thoughts. So, stay tuned in!!
